Proof66 Notes

The Carlos brandy line is named to commemorate the Spanish emperor Charles V. The average age is 5 years but using the solera method--which means a tiny portion of the oldest barrels are maintained for subsequent aging, suggesting some brandy in the bottle is perhaps 100 years old.

Pedro Domecq is a producer of sherry and brandy first beginning in production in 1730 founded by the French Domecq family. It was acquired by Allied-Domecq in 1994, which later became part of the French company Pernod Ricard.
