Proof66 Notes

D'usse XO Cognac is a bend of cognac aged at least 10 years in French oak prior to bottling. They suggest looking for flavor notes of blackberry, apricot, chocolate, and walnut.

Chateau de Cognac was founded in 1795 by the Baron Otard, who narrowly escaped execution and began producing coganc from the family stock of eau-de-vie. He continued to have a very successful political career in France throughout the first part of the 19th century. The chateau itself is said to have formerly been a fortress to defend against Viking incursions, purchased by Otard in 1795. It was, in his opinion, ideally situated near the river and with thick walls to provide the perfect atmosphere for aging cognac. The brand is owned by Bacardi.
