Proof66 Notes

El Rey Zapoteco (or "King Zapoteco") is a brand of mezcal that traces its heritage in Oaxaca back to 1960. They pride themselves on traditional mezcal production, which includes baking the agave in stone ovens heated with firewood and then crushed by a horse-drawn stone mill. The Joven mezcal is made from a base of 100% espadin agave, which is one of the more popular agave varieties used in mezcal.
