Liquor Review Notes:
Twenty Grand Vodka Cognac is precisely what the label suggests: a blend of imported French cognac (of unknown origin) and vodka (we presume American grain-based but that, too, is unspecified). According to the write-up in Tasting Panel Magazine by Elyse Glickman (May, 2013) the name is meant to invoke "true class" and an "aspirational lifestyle" (hopefully that doesn't mean debt!). The target market is "young, urban professionals" aged 25-39. Twenty Grand is bottled by Three Springs Bottling in Kentucky and owned by Western Spirits. Being neither vodka nor cognac but rather a courteous mixture of the two so that the consumer or bartender doesn't have to, we have elected to classify it as an "other" in a standalone category. The federal Tax and Trade Bureau has classified it as "other specialties" (code 649).
