Proof66 Notes

Lo-Artisan Distillery describes itself as a "family distillery" crafting rice-based spirits founded by Po Lo in keeping with the Hmong people's (southeast Asian) traditions. This becomes yerlo, which they describe as a base of all-natural rice with additives or sweeteners. It is distilled to 130 proof and they say retains scents of jasmine in the final product.

cheap liquor that tries to be high end. it's has a rough taste doesn't go down easy at all. WAY overpriced for what you're getting. If I could get it zero stars I would have.

We had a chance to try this at Distill America 2013 in Madison, WI. It’s all sweet on the front of the palate, due to the Jasmine rice that is its base, and incredibly smooth for such a high-proof (120!) liquor. In a world of shooters where people seem compelled to treat high-proof spirits like a hazing ritual, this is a sipper/shooter that actually tastes good and can hold up (obviously) in many differently styled cocktails.

Tremendous taste and unique. This spirit was unlike anything I had before. Light on the palate yet packs a punch (120 proof). Jasmine combined with naturally rising yeast make the flavors hide until the right moment, then BOOM, they surprise you with delight. A must try.

A refreshingly different entrant to America's craft-distiilled product universe.  Kind of a velvet revolver--very smooth, but with a great deal of power.
