Back River Gin was first launched in 2007 when the Maine winery Sweetgrass first branched out into distilled spirits. Along with traditional botanicals such as lemon zest and juniper, they also use Maine blueberries as an homage to the region. They term it an American Dry gin though some have thought it closer to a genever in style.
