Proof66 Notes

Gordon's gin claims a recipe next to 250 years old first established in 1769 by Alexander Gordon. The gin is a classic dry with heavy juniper flavors and aromas. The website claims the juniper berries "gently knocked off" and then stored for a year before use to concentrate the flavor.

Gordon's Gin made in Canada is very good gin. It makes good martinis and Gin & tonics. The martini is best 5 parts Gordon's/1part vermouth. The gin & tonic is best of 45 ml of Gordon"s in 200 ml of Fever-tree tonic. Gordon's also taste good straight. Nose is juniper, citrus, cinnamon, and mint. The entry is smooth with juniper ,floral elderberry, bitter citrus , cinnamon liquorice ending with juniper and bitter citrus. I like it better than Tanqueray Original Gin.

The strong but not overwhelming juniper is what makes it great. Perfect for gin and tonics. Not as good in a martini. Always my favorite for the money. It may not be as complex as higher end Beefeater or Tanqueray but I would rather drink Gordon's.

If you like bold, juniper forward gin and sticking with strictly G&T's, you don't need to buy anything else. Incredible value! Makes a respectable dry martini in a pinch, but the G&T is what Gordon's does best! Better than Seagrams and New Amsterdam in this price range.

A very solid gin. On the dry side, decently heavy on the juniper. Not a ton of other flavors. Drinks OK straight. Very good mixed due to the simple but strong flavor. The price is amazing on this stuff, though New Amsterdam is another strong (in my opinion slightly superior) contender in the price range. I just wish the handle was not plastic- something about having a plastic handle on display just seems a tad embarrassing. Glass bottles are hard to come by around here.

Neutral juniper beginning. Easy to drink but not too deep. Nice but not too interesting. The juniper is quite in the background and not much other herbs there. Full but neutral. 2.4

For the price you can't compete, if you just want a nice G&T Gordons isn't a bad choice.

2,9 stars, its drinkable if you use plenty of tonic, there is a certain nice sweetness, but it also tastes somewhat dirty and unpleasant.

My standard for a gin and tonic. Why spend more when you're diluting it?? Now martinis?? That's when you want a Beefeater, Bombay or Tanqueray. And try the Gordon's with Fever Tree Tonic. Brings the g & t to a whole new level of greatness. In my area 1.75 bottle is around $14 on sale

Agreed! The best value of any spirit you will find. There is always a bottle in my bar and I've started experimenting with infusing gin, and Gordon's shines in this role as well.

A good traditional juniper heavy gin for the price. You can buy a handle in my area for about $16. I prefer this in a gin and tonic, but it makes a passable dry or dirty martini. In my opinion, this is one of the best bottom shelf spirits you will find.

The standard for a London Dry Gin. Mixes well and goes down smooth. No way to beat the value for the price.

Agree with everyone else, a very agreeable gin for the pricetag. Good standard juniper presence and definitely not like drinking a pine-tree

Well superior to Tanqueray, in that it possesses a more classic gin taste and finish, but overall I found this to be quite a middling product.
