4.7 stars One of my favs, its well balanced between citrus, juniper, earthy and vegetal tones, not too intense but with a very refreshing bite. Prefer it over the westbourne strength as it is milder and more balanced.

If you like a traditional dry gin and want to try something that pushes the envelope just a little, this is it. "Peppery" (on both the nose and the palate) is the first thing I thought when I bought this on the recommendation of an ABC store employee. Good, but not too far "outside the box", in a gin and tonic. A dry martini is where this gin shines. The vermouth really brings out some hidden floral and citrus notes. Even though it's about $10 more than my standbys (Beefeater and Broker's), I'd definitely buy again when I'm in the mood for something a little different.

Black pepper from the cassia spreads across the tongue as a delightful surprise. Reminds me of a Szechuan peppery numb sauce. The juniper then starts to appear from behind it, along with a citrus reminiscent of a Seville bitter orange, along with the various other botanicals that give it a pleasant slightly astringent mouthfeel at the end.
