Proof66 Notes

Seagram's gin is a label is owned by Pernod-Ricard after the break-up of the original Seagram's Distillery. It's made with Indiana-grown grain and "mineral rich water." Based on recent filings with the US Tax and Trade Bureau, production facilities seem to have moved to the Canadian-owned Hiram Walker production plant in Arkansas.

Seagram's gin is their flagship product and one of the largest sellers in the world, featured as a well-gin in almost every bar in every hotel in every major city.

Not bad but nothing special. Probably priced about where it should be. Works fine if you're making G&T's for a large group. Makes an average martini but after the first few sips, the sweetness of the gin starts to overpower the drink. Too many artificial flavors for my liking.

Seagram's Gin is no longer aged or dry. The nose is heavy Juniper ,cinnamon ,and lemon. The entry is raw sweet juniper and cinnamon with citrus twang. Seagram Gin now is rotgut. Pernod Ricard has tried to smooth Seagram's Gin with sugar to remove the rough edges.I tried this gin in tonic and a martini. It did not work due to sweetness. The sales of Seagram's Gin has dropped steadily since the change of formula for Seagram's Gin. The old Seagram Gin under original Seagram's company was good This Seagram's Gin under Ricard Pernod is terrible

3.9 stars this is solid gin, nothing special, straight juniper, a bit sweeter than other london drys but not that overwhelming. would pick beefeater and tanqueray over this but nothing to complain.

An OK gin for gin and tonic. When my liquor dealer is out of Gordon's--which I prefer for G&T--I'll use this. As others have said, it's juniper is a bit milder than Gordon's but it's OK as a mixer

I combined a bunch of coupons and rebates, and managed to get a 1.75 L bottle for $5.00. Otherwise, a 1.75 L bottle goes for $15.39. I'm definitely factoring that into my review for this - it's really... Decent. Like, you can definitely tell it's gin, and it mixes all right. But, it's nothing really special. This is the first budget gin I've tried that didn't punish me for my attempts to save money, though, so, I mean, if you want gin without destroying your wallet, this really is the one you should go with.

This stuff isn't bad, but for less money you can pick up a bottle of Gordon's which leaves Seagrams in the dust. All the stuff I like in a gin are here, just not in balance. Also ends on a sweet note that I don't care for. If you must buy Seagrams, the Seagrams Reserve (higher proofed) is better for just a few dollars more.

There's a little bitterness in this stuff but it's not undrinkable. Orange/citrus, pine, and a hint of sweetness both in the aroma and flavor. It's definitely a good one to mix; makes a fantastic Long Island Iced Tea. It won't blow your mind, but for what it is it's well worth the price. Dakota's review is entertaining, but inaccurate.

I have always heard it called "the smooth gin in the bumpy bottle". It is not profoundly smooth by any means. But it is smooth enough to overpour into a mixed drink accidentally and tolerate. The flavor is mild for a Gin. That is why l rate it a three. Cheap and easy to keep in the home bar for guests. But if you are some l really like l will pull out the Hendricks.

A decent value for the price, not the best out there but is easy to drink and in my opinion superior to others such as Gordon's and Tanqueray.

Probably one of the best value gin out there in the market. (good bang for the buk) This gin has a shallow flavor of junipers and has a very mild bite to it making it easy to drink. (especially for people new to gin) I would recommend this for mixing drinks such as gin/tonic, etc. (not a martini)

Inexpensive gin that mixes well. I really like it, but maybe because it was my first gin. I haven't tried too many "premium" gins, but I can tell you that I'd rather have this than Tanqueray. For me, the Seagrams works well with tonic, orange juice, in a martini, or just straight. Nothing objectionable here.
