Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur
This score falls in the 97th percentile of all spirits in the Liqueur category and is an example of the very best in its class.
Barenjager liqueur is translated loosely as "bear trap" or "bear hunter" liqueur, which becomes clear enough when you think of a honey-based liqueur. While the more well-known honey liqueur is a legacy stretching back to the 15th century medieval era of German bear trappers.
Schwarze & Schlichte is a the distillery that produces the spirit, who first came to being in 1664 and have been making sweetened liqueurs ever since. They in turn own the Tuecke & Koenig Bear Trap Company, who first originally produced the liqueur. The label itself is owned by the Sidney Frank Importing Company.
