Proof66 Notes

Carolans was first developed in 1978 and now claims to be the world's #2 seller of Irish cream. They are proud of the quality of their ingredients, particularly in their honey, which they regard as the secret to the success of the liqueur.

In our own tasting in March of 2010, we said that Carolans--due primarily to its use of honey--"had an appeal that stretched beyond Baileys."

This Irish cream with honey is just CLOYINGLY sweet with rather rough burn. I rather drink Baileys over this, even though there are other cream liqueurs i prefer over Baileys.

From memory: Like Baileys but half the price. A fine spirit.

Best of the "Irish creams" I've had (Not as good as Rum Chata though). Thick viscous cream feel mixed with sweet honey flavor. All around agreeable and much less medicinal flavor than in Baileys.

When I worked in a liquor store, we were allowed to take something extra home with us at Christmas. I was given this as a gift from my coworker. All cordialness aside. This tasted like a weak Bailey's. Went well with coffee. Probably will not have this again.

Agree with other reviewer, as good as Baileys and 1/2 the price.

Much better than Baileys, and at half the price. Tastes great by itself and in coffee.

This is one of my least favorite of all the cream liquors. The taste is both sharp and overly sweet and one-dimensional. Can't imagine how it got such a zooming high rating!
