Proof66 Notes

Firelit Spirits are designed specifically around capturing the essence of coffee. They hand-roast the coffee beans and then cold-brew the coffee in order to better capture the "rich character and fresh aroma." They blend their coffee with a base of brandy distilled from Chardonnay and sweeten with cane sugar rather than corn syrup. The liqueurs are released in batches that appear to be specific to single-origin coffee beans used in that particular batch.

This is a super espresso coffee that I love in alcohol form. Absolutely phenomenal quality and flavor in every sip from beginning to end. Bravo!!

This coffee liqueur smells EXACTLY like a cup of very, very strong coffee. I would think of it as camp coffee where you can feel the grounds on your tongue. It tastes very slightly sweet but extremely intense. I don't think I can imagine any but the most manly coffee drinkers drinking it neat. A little ice makes it much nicer but still surprisingly bitter in that espresso sort of way. It seems a shame to mix this elitist coffee liqueur into cream liqueur, but I tried that and it makes a very, very nice digestif drink. Given that it's coffee. I tried warming it with a little cream liqueur, almost like an Irish Coffee. It tasted good but unfortunately the cream clotted up and looks awful in the glass.
