Proof66 Notes

Lazzaroni Amaretto has, for many decades, been one of the definitive Italian amaretto liqueurs based upon almond cookies, for which Lazzaroni is also famous.

Lazzaroni products are imported by the Laird and Company.

Wonderful taste and body to it. They hit it on the head with this one.

Stands up to Disaronno just fine, but despite the great almond cookie taste, there remains an aftertaste of cough syrup. It is better than a DeKuyper-level amaretto, but is too syrupy and unbalanced for me. Far better is the Luxardo amaretto, which is in a class of its own.

We love Lazzaroni Amaretto!  It is so good for drinking straight, adding to orange juice, putting in french toast batter or anything else you can think to use it for.  Our problem is that we can no longer find a supplier to purchase it from.  We live in Bakersfield, CA.  Is there anyone that can tell us where we can buy it?

The very best amaretto weve tried. Nicely balances bitterness and sweetness. Doesnt suffer from a lingering alcohol presence like Luxardo and the like nor is it syrupy sweet like Di Saronno and Amore. Simply exceptional.

Yet another fine Amaretto that makes me wonder why anyone bothers with di Saronno. This one's on the less expensive side, so if you don't want to spring for the Luxardo, get this. Nice bitterness on the close combined with swetness up front.

Years ago, Lazzaroni produced a peach version of this liquor which was stunning -- the affinity between almonds and either peaches or apricot is too good to ignore. The best mix I've found with this liquor is with apricot or peach necter, with or without a little cream floating on top.
