Mama Walker's Maple Bacon Flavored Liqueur
This is a Tier 2 score in the Liqueur category. It means critics have highly recommended the spirit as a benchmark in the category.
Mama Walker's Maple Bacon liqueur is perhaps the bravest flavor in the initial launch, presumably blending salty meat and sweet maple.
Mama Walker's liqueurs are a new brand launched under the Hiram Walker umbrella (itself owned by French-based Pernod-Ricard). According to Brand Director Juli Falkoff in an interview with Tasting Panel Magazine the year of the launch (March, 2013), the brand is meant to invoke feelings of "nostalgia and comfort foods... there [is] a great deal of interest in breakfast foods." She further (logically) suggested the liqueurs for "brunch cocktails." The liqueurs are filed with the Tax and Trade Bureau as produced at a bottling plant owned by Pernod-Ricard in New York rather than the Hiram Walker Distillery in Canada.
