Travis Hasse's Cow Pie Chocolate Caramel Vanilla Liqueur
This spirit has yet to face the slings and arrows of the rating agencies.
Cow Pie Liqueur is a blend of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla in what we presume is an intensely dessert and highly sweetened liqueur. It was first released in 2012 and is the third product from the label. In the press release, it mentions an homage to the Cow Pie from the Baraboo Candy Company, a 30yr Wisconsin company. They suggest chilling and serving as a shot.
The Drink Pie liqueurs stem from the original recipe of Gene Hasse, father of founder Travis Hasse, and was a blend of Wisconsin apples and cinnamon. What at first was a special recipe at a Missouri tavern, eventually became such a requested product they began producing it independently. The line evolved into several different pie flavors. Drink Pie LLC was acquired by Castle Brands in 2010, whom we note as the owner. The liqueur was originally produced at Temperance Distilling in Michigan but in 2012 moved to Death's Door Distilling of Wisconsin, which does a substantial business in contract work.
