Proof66 Notes

Ogden's Own is located at the place where the transcontinental railroad was completed but the true heritage of the distillery is the underground tunnels used for bootlegging during Prohibition. It was founded by Timothy Smith, whose first exposure to distilling came from discovering his grandfather's illicit moonshine still amongst the pine trees.

Underground bitters liqueur is a liqueur acknowledging the heritage of Utah in the Old American West.

Yeah... right in the Krauter liqueur space and that means Jager. And this is better. It's flavors are sharper and more distinguished and it mixes beautifully in a lot of different cocktails. I've been putting it in whiskey as a kind of Manhattan in lieu of vermouth and like it a great deal. Really a great buy and much cooler to have in your bar than god damn Jager.

(3.5 out of 5). Very nice. Comparisons to Jagermeister are inevitable, so I won't beat around the bush; this stuff is cheaper (at least where I live) and better. Where Jager is syrupy and almost cloyingly sweet, Underground is smoother, cleaner and more refined, and overall better tasting. On top of that, it's 80 proof to Jagermeister's 70, yet smoother at the same time. Not something I drink often, but I try to keep it around. $19 in my area.
