A quiet time of the year for our database but there were a couple of noteworthy entries into the market as we prepare of the looming season that is the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Smirnoff Sorbet Pineapple Coconut vodka was released as an addition to the popular Smirnoff sorbet line. While we take a somewhat dim view towards “low calorie” spirits that tend to simply be lower-proofed, we had a chance to sample the other sorbet flavors and rather liked them as easy mixing spirits.
Evan Williams 2004 Vintage Bourbon was released this month… one of the great value buys in single-barrel bourbon. They promised a more bold and assertive flavor for the 2004 vintage.
Citadelle Gin has a new-look on their bottle with a copper accent finish on a seltzer bottle affair!
Crown Royal XO Canadian Whisky is their newest, premium blend. Usually XO means “extra old” but this doesn’t carry an age statement so it’s hard to know what to think. It sits in a price point between the Reserve and the XR.
