Proof66 Notes

Cana Brava rum is a Panamian product made from molasses at Las Cabras Distillery in the "southern isthmus of Panama." They claim the rum is distilled to a purity of 94% - 96% alcohol, which is very high and bordering on vodka, suggesting a highly neutral flavor (before being blended down to bottling proof, of course).  In an act of cooperation, the rum is shipped to Domaine Charbay of California to be blended down with water and bottled. The brand is owned by New York-based The 86 Co

Cana Brava Reserva Aneja is aged for 7 years in ex-bourbon barrels prior to bottling.
