Notes:
This is North Shore Distillery's Distiller's Gin No. 6. It's a modern style gin with fresh lemon zest and lavender giving it complex floral characteristics. They suggest a ratio of 8:1 gin to vermouth in a traditional martini.
Comments: Another really excellent alternative gin. Excellent mix of botanicals and spices. If you like fire and spiciness Old Raj you will love this gin as it is a subtle and more varied gin on that theme - not to mention it's about 1/2 the money!

Comments: Great fragrance (strong lemon hints) & goes down easy. Great for classic cocktails and a great price.

When I drink it, it makes me think of... Tetris. It maks me think of Tetris. Drinking it is like having this hugely complex string of falling bricks and then getting that last, big piece that solves everything. This drink is complex but it works.
It tastes best when you... mix it with orange juice or tonic. It's well-suited for cocktails that require a great swath of flavors because the gin floods through the competition.
If the distiller was in front of me, I would tell him/her... Well, crafted sir! Well crafted indeed!
Additional Comments: I think this is a magical little gin. It's not quite the classic London Dry but if your'e going to have two contrasting gins in your cabinet, then this has got to be one of them.

Comments: 4 tasting against Tanqueray, Magellan and Rouge Pinot Noir it was 3rd although close to 2nd Magellan overall. It had an unusual floral scent but not unpleasant and a mild finish for a gin. Was poor in a gin&tonic with a lingering rather unpleasant taste and a soapy feel on the tongue. It was OK in a martini but didn't have a true martini tast. Drinkable in a Maiden's Prayer - it let the sweet tast come through while Magellan let the sour come through.

Comments: I thought North Shore had a good fragrance - nice yet complex with a lingering finish - a burn, but very smooth. Mixed with tonic, it made an excellent afternoon cocktail - I could get very used to that! I also enjoy North Shore mixed in a Maiden's Prayer. All in all, if you enjoy gin, try this one. You won't be sorry.

Comments: This gin kept taking me back to the 80's, as it smells like the cologne all the 9th grade boys doused themselves in. I couldn't get past the smell, or bitter after taste on either of the classics, the gin and tonic or the gin martini. I used the tried and true "plug and chug" method to get through them. The tide turned as I tried this in a Maiden's Prayer. Kept a beachy theme for me, I would have to drink the first two quickly, but by the third I would be happy.

Comments: The No. 6 Gin from North Shore is very good, but it has a bit too many flavorful botanicals for me. I love their No. 11 Gin and from what I understand, people typically like one or the other. This is a truly high quality gin and is good, it's just a bit flowery for me.
