Proof66 Notes

1800 tequilas are made by Casa Cuervo from 100% blue agave. The name comes from the "historic event" of aging tequila in oak for the very first time. The line was first launched in 1975 as a premium sipping tequila.

This is an okay tequia..... period. This one burns bit too much to be sipped and prolly just better off for mixing and shooting. Has typical fermented-pineapple flavor associated with products coming from JC. One thing though is for the money i feel this is much better value than patron.

Great looking bottle; the shape and the blue color are really appealing and look nice on the bar (kind of a pain in the ass to open though). What's inside is just okay. If I were to do a blind taste test between this and the Arrogante Blanco I'm not sure I could tell the difference. I re-read my description of that and it seems to describe the 1800 pretty well too.

well don julio told me if I work hard I can come to his house someday but until then, 1800 silver lives on my street and is down for a good time any day of the week, and any hour of night.  I don't know, this stuff is pretty good.  It's mild mannered, but, actually tastes like Agave, unlike two fingers and the like.  I'd prefer Hornitos for sipping straight, but, this is fine for that too in a pinch.  I have mixed plenty of drinks with 1800 silver, cocktails that is, and they were excellent.  This is a fine, mid grade tequila.  Welcome in my home.

Very good tequila. I don't really care for the flavor straight, but for licking salt, shooting it, then sucking a limon this stuff is great. This would be good for any tequila mixing.

1800 comes at you with some pretty heavy flavor. This one has a bit of burn to it, and there is a lot more going on than other mass market, big name tequilas such as Sauza. But 1800s flavor also feels a bit forced, as if its trying too hard to be a top shelf tequila with lots of depth that will leave your tongue swirling. It ends up being more spicy than anything else. Not a bad thing, and probably welcome if you are enjoying a lot of Mexican food.

Mixed well with Qi liqueur. No discernable taste in a Tequila sunrise
