Proof66 Notes

Alderete tequilas regard themselves as boutique tequilas made by hand in a small distillery in Arandas. They select only fully matured Blue Weber Agave (usually about 9 years old) and distill it in a traditional copper pot still, which gives an artisanal quality in that each batch will be slightly different from the last.

Alderete Anejo is aged for 27 months--much longer than the required 12 for an anejo classification--in French oak rather than the more typical American white oak.

The 2011 Beverage Testing Institute review declared the anejo "An incredibly robust, and balanced oak-driven añejo that will be great with cigars."
