Proof66 Notes

Cazadores reposado ages (or "rests") in American White oak for a short two months, imparting a faint color and mellowness to the tequila.
The Beverage Testing Institute called this a "delicious and satisfying reposado" in 2010.

Cazadores tequila is made in the tradition of founder Jose Maria who first began making tequila in 1922 in secret.

My rating is based partly on the $18.95 I paid for 750ml... a super deal, IMHO. This repo blows away Patron... as many do... certainly Espolon too... I found it to be smooth, even buttery, great flavors, nice finish... really pleasant... easily compares to repos twice the price... this may become my every day sipper (over ice)... no, it is not a $50+ bottle... but I have yet to find a better tequila at this price point.

Cazadores used to be my preffered brand back in the days, and their reposado is easily the best out of the three. This tequila has basic notes of faint agave, vanilla, oak and earth with butteriness to it. This is not a Tequila that will make you go "WOW", but rather one of those "OK" tasting brands. Its just basic, inoffensive, smooth tequila that is very easy to drink.

I pretty much agree with consensus here. It has a light, floral nose with almost a "dusty" quality to it. The flavor has a very mild agave spice, a surprising amount of oak given the short aging time, and that earthiness that others mentioned below. There's nothing offensive or off putting about it, but nothing really exciting either. As psprings so eloquently stated, it's "just ok".

(3 out of 5). This stuff's okay, but honestly I don't keep it around. A pretty typical reposado with agave, earth and slight oak, but nothing that really distinguishes it. In its price range I prefer Milagro and especially Espolón. Costs about $25 where I live.

TucsonJJ (2017-03-28):
Personally... I think Cazadores repo beats the tar out of Espolon repo... not even close.

Honestly it's been a long time since I tried it, I'll have to give it another shot and see how I feel about it now. I noticed in your review you said that Cazadores is $18 where you live- where I am Cazadores reposado is around $30 where as Espolón is $25 and frequently goes on sale for $20-22, so that probably influences my opinion of it.

Which Repos do you consider a better value... with better "quality"? At $18.95... I haven't found any better values.

Drinkable, but overpriced. It's also artificially colored, which is a great way to wake up in the morning feeling like a chihuahua crapped in your mouth.

Sorry, but nonsense... I picked up this for $18.95 for 750ml... you call that overpriced? Compared to what, Cuervo Gold? And I have found it leaves NO morning doggy aftertaste!
