Proof66 Notes

Clase Azul (pronounced "Kloss-eh Ah-zool" tequilas are made from organically grown agave plants. Perhaps as important, the tequilas are bottled "in unique decanters that are hand-painted and individually numbered by artisans in local communities" and famously made of porcelain in tall, elegant shapes.

The Clase Azul Ultra is a collector's edition, issued in batches comprised of 100 bottles. The famous porcelain decanter is painted in 24 karat (100% pure) gold accented with platinum and silver. The tequila itself is aged for 5 years (easily qualifying as an extra-anejo) in Spanish sherry casks, an aging process often used for single malt scotch whisky.
