Proof66 Notes

El Jimador tequilas are brand named for the field worker who harvests the agave plant with large, sharp spade-like implements and prepares them for baking. Jimador blanco is their un-aged expression, usually representing the strongest agave flavors.

The Jimador blanco was awarded the Silver Medal at the 2010 SIP Awards.

Casa Herradura was one of the oldest and most storied of the tequila brands.

Overpriced for what you get for basic mixing tequila . Casa Herradura makes it , but not it is not the quality of Herradura tequilas. There is nose of fresh agave heart followed by a sweet peppery entry with with sweet citrus short finish. The tequila is too sweet, not making it a sipper and not a good mixer except in bitter cocktails.

A basic citrusy and vegetal blanco that is just ok tequila... nothing more to say really. There are many other blancos i prefer over this though. Its perfectly fine for mixing and shooting but definetly not a sipper.

Nothing offensive but nothing to brag about. Passably smooth if mixed but definitely a bit harsh and hot for drinking neat. If your into shots could be a reasonable tequila. A few dollars more could have a better drink.

IMO one of the less impressive quality tequilas in the $12-20 market, this blanco has a distinct vegetal quality to it - in the way pure cane rum does - while having a gin-like core profile. Then, add in a slightly smokey tequila pepper garnish, and you have this. While I am a fan of tequila, cane rum, and gin, the mixture here just isnt for me. Id sum this one up by conjuring the image of a baby-boomer Brit (the gin) on holiday in Mexico (the rum) doing only the most touristy things (the tequila).
