Nice tequila, although there are a couple of value reposados I prefer. Versatile, this is a good sipper and mixer. It has a nice agave and wood nose and that match the initial and mid flavor. It has a nice pepper finish that doesn't overwhelm. I don't always keep it around the house, but do pick up a bottle every once in a while.

For the money I call this a solid 4/5. I usually sip Anejos, but wanted something to mix, and with a little more agave and a little less oak. This one has a really nice balance, better than I expected. Smooth, agave, a little sweet, slight oak, just enough complexity to be interesting. A little bit of vanilla adds richness and smoothness. I get a little bitterness in the margaritas I tried this in but may be the mixers (Tres Agaves Organic). Overall really happy with this.

Generally i prefer aged tequilas over blancos, but thats not the case with Espolon. This is fine reposado but i personally think their blanco is much better straight and more versatile in mixing. Has notes of agave, vanilla, cinnamon with hint of fruits and nuts. In the mouth there are some rough edges to it which i find rather unplesant to drink compared to some others. I tried to love this reposado but i just can't.

I enjoyed this straight. It's light and smooth. I drink Tequila quite regularly and I thought this was a buy.

I found this to work well alone or in a simple cocktail but did not work well in anything complex. The agave provided some dryness that really stood out in a mixed drink so the synergy had to be dead on (with just lime soda water.... So good). Made and orange juice slushy margarita and it was not working... Too bold of a tequila to be blended down. Alone this was a very smooth, bold, and balanced tequila.

(4 out of 5). I seem to like this more than other users on this site. I think it has a lovely nose of agave, vanilla and cinnamon, and has a nice entry on the palate. Not incredibly complex, but enough to make a decent sipper. Highly recommended, especially for the price. $22-25 in my area.

Tasting notes: peanut brittle and strawberry shortcake. But seriously, this is a pretty mild, desert-like drink...reminiscent of some cognacs, to me (for a tequila, anyway). Hardly any burn, no strong flavors of note, washes right down. Decent, no better than that. For the money I'd rather have a giant bottle of Hornitos resposado...something with more character.

It's inexpensive (around $20). Now the bad news: really dissapointing. For a reposado, it has a really pronounced and vibrant (i.e. green) agave flavor, which you sort of want at least slightly mellowed out by the aging. Not here. It's pretty harsh all the way around -- definitely not a sipper, folks. Compared to other reposados in this price-range, it does fairly well -- if you really search for it there is some oakiness from the aging... but be prepared to search. With that said, it does better chilled -- I'm using it as a mixer if I want to take the edge off a cocktail that calls for a sliver tequila. The highlight is the nose, which is really excpetional, but very deceptive for what's about to come. It'll be a one-and-done bottle for me, though, unless the price lures me back... better than the 1800 repo, if that means anything?

Didn't like it at first when I tried a sip of it. That was my mistake. This is a shooting tequila. Some how that reveals the best flavor and it is rather enjoyable. Not a bad price either .It just isn't anything to get excited about.
