I used to think this is great tequila but not anymore... after trying over 100+ tequilas. The agave presence is so little in this drink, as all you can really smell is fruity nose (similar to what you get from hornitos), with pronounced alcohol nose with some vanilla. On the palate you get more oaky taste followed by peppery finish. Its not a bad tequila, as this tastes indefinetly better than some other options (i'm talking to you Patron), but it's no longer my top choice.

Round? Smooth? Complex? Maybe the bottle I tried was a bad batch, but none of those words even remotely describes the tequila I had. Two words tell the whole story of the glass I had. WHITE PEPPER! It was like having a spoonful of white pepper. Not just spicy . Intolerable! Not sure if I caught a faint whiff of vanilla you might expect in an anejo or it was just wishfull hopes of relief.

Just tried again after 3 years, and WOW! Sipped along with Clase Azul and XQ and it stood tall. Smooth and tasty!! Will keep in my collection from now on!

While better than many of the other more industrially made lowland tequilas (of which there are legion )it still doesn't rise to the level of a favorite. Easy-to-find, but quite pricey for what it is - and it's still a bit harsh to boot.
