Proof66 Notes

Absolut is famous for flavored vodkas and great marketing. Absolut SF is the 2011 limited edition expression from the Absolut Cities campaign to celebrate specific attributes of various cities, in this case San Francisco. According to the press release, it was developed with the help of local luminaries Miguel Migs (DJ), Christopher Collins (Project Runway), Erik Otto (painter), and Kevin Rose (Digg). The label is meant to pay homage to the freedom of expression moments of San Francisco history. By combining grape, dragon fruit, and papaya (and that little bit of "special" that is Absolut), this vodka pays homage to everything that is San Francisco.

In 2011, the flavor was re-released as Absolut Grapevine.

About the Producer:

Absolut claims "all natural ingredients" with "no added sugar." It officially began production in 1979 and, to this day, they take great pride in their production facilities in Ahus, Sweden where "every drop of water" comes from a single "deep well." The vodka uses a soft winter wheat for its base. The brand is owned by French-based Pernod-Ricard.

Absolut vodka is one of the top-selling brands of vodka in the world and is one of the great visionaries in the marketing of vodka. Their aggressive and occasionally scandalous ads in the nineties helped launch the cocktail culture.
