Proof66 Notes

Belvedere Vodkas are made in Poland at the Polmos Zyrardow distillery (some say the birthplace of all vodka) using Dankowski Gold Rye. The rye is considered high in starch yielding a "velvety soft" flavor to the vodka. The water is used from local water sources in Poland.

My tasting experience is limited to ice cold shooters. I found it to be surprisingly smooth (no doubt due to the rye), considering vodkas propensity to seriously burn straight...no medicinal aftertaste...

A vendor friend of mine was crazy for this and since he was always buying I was always drinking. I think it is a very fine vodka but I can find a handful that I like better at $10-15 cheaper. Still, it makes a very fine gift and I'm happy to receive one if anyone wants to send me a bottle. ;-)

Side by side with Beluga, it has a sharper, bolder rye taste and a thinner mouthful, but VERY smooth. If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably pick Beluga...but this is an outstanding vodka nonetheless. Highly recommend.

This is a great vodka, in my opinion. It was one of the first super premium vodkas. I like this in a straight martini. You don't want to mix this with anything because it's so smooth.

This 1 of the best vodkas. They meticulously select the best rye and make a very good product. I would serve this to guests any day.

This used to be my Vodka of choice until I found a secret gem! Belvedere is still a smoothly flavored vodka, but could do without all of the hype!

This vodka is overly marketed, way overrated and not worth the extreme amount of money it's sold for. I think the only worse option you can make for a premium vodka is to go for the Grey Goose... I may sound a bit too harsh but if you pay 35-40 euros for a bottle then the expectations should be high.

I was curious about this vodka so I bought a small 50ml bottle and gave it a shot. I must admit it is very good. Smooth, refined taste, I tasted a very small hint of grape? Not sure. I bought a 50ml of Grey Goose too, and this Belvedere is leaps and bounds ahead of Grey Goose. Recommended, although a bit pricey.

Ive tried it on the rocks and is by far the best tasting vodka. Great character!, something grey goose doesnt have.

i must say i'm a bit shocked to see how lowly ranked this vodka is but this is in general a pretty decent vodka i'd put in the range of a solid B to a B+. There is a subtle bite (like every vodka in the world, maybe except oval) but it is still drinkable on the rocks. Although it is not as smooth as chopin or square one organic vodka it is still a pretty good vodka in its own right. As much as i would like to vouch for this vodka however, i believe that for almost the same price it is still better to get a bottle of chopin or square one organic bottle of vodka instead. (reason why i've only tried this vodka once)

I'm going to have to disagree with the comment above mine. When I first got into vodka, I thought Grey Goose was awesome until I tried the stuff straight with no ice... disgusting. This was the vodka that I switched to after that, and I have been very happy with it. After doing a lot of research and seeing that this vodka isn't so highly rated, I decided to do a tasting to see if my opinion of this vodka was correct. After tasting it neat, I understand why I switched to this vodka. It is very smooth and has a clean, refined flavor. It has a great lemon peel and caramelized brown sugar profile that just goes down so easily. I have been sipping this stuff on the rocks with a twist and in straight up martinis for about 3 years now, and I am satisfied. I'm going to keep looking at the other vodkas that are so highly rated on this site, but I strongly believe that this vodka is grossly underrated.

Just the very slightest bit less smooth than Grey Goose, and just as empty when it comes to sipping. Yet another mixing liquor, which it is fine at. Theres nothing here for a sipper.
