Tier 1
This is a Tier 1 score in the Vodka category. It means the spirit has won the highest recommendation at least once and probably many times.

Proof66 Notes

Covington Spirits is lcoated in Snow Hill, North Carolina.

Covington Vodka is made from sweet potatoes... unusual in the modern vodka world where a great majority is made from grain and if made from potatoes at all are usually made from russett potatoes. Covington designs their vodka to be "creamy" and "with not even the slightest hint of heat." The potatoes they use are sourced locally to their distillery in North Carolina. Their marketing slogan is "the best yam vodka on earth!"

I will give it a 4 star but it may not be for everybody. Made with Potato. Those who drink Pinnacle or a wheat or rye based vodka will have trouble getting used to it.

I love that this distillery is 2 hours down the road. I love that they use local surplus sweet potatoes as their base. I also love the unique flavor profile that those sweet potatoes bring to the table. Smooth with limited burn and a great body. I can sip it straight or mix. The only vodka I "splurge" on (it goes for $30 in my area). If they stock at your store or bar, try it. You won't regret it.

Amazingly unique. Happy that it is local and that you can actually tell that sweet potatoes are used in its creation. Hard to describe the flavor, but there are definite sweet potato tastes, taste for yourself; its worth it!

I love the obvious sweet potato flavor of this fine vodka. I like that it's local to NC. Has a body, aroma, and vegetal sweetness quite reminiscent of good tequila. Very unique among vodkas I've tried.
