Proof66 Notes

Deep Eddy Lemon vodka is made with a blend of lemon juice and designed for mixing with club soda.

Deep Eddy vodka is was founded in 2010 in Austin, Texas by Clayton Christopher in collaboration with Chad Auler of Savvy Distillers. They use local and all-natural products in their production and blend it with aquifer water from Texas. The name "deep eddy" is inspired by the "largest swimming hole" in the Austin, Texas area. According to the 2011 filing with the Tax and Trade Bureau, Deep Eddy is produced by Savvy Spirits out of Texas, whom we've listed here as the producer. Driven by early success, the facility has expanded to a 4-acre, 35,000 square foot facility capable of producing 2 million cases per year. In the interview with Tasting Panel Magazine (November, 2014 by Anthony Head), Auler remains committed to Austin and using "real ingredients" in their flavors. In August, 2015, the Deep Eddy brand was sold to Kentucky-based Heaven Hill. According to the Wall Street Journal (Tripp Mickle), the sale price was not disclosed but estimated between $165 and $300 million. In the article, Heaven Hill said that Deep Eddy would 'operate as an independent company within Heaven Hill and continue to be overseen by its current president, Eric Dopkins."

3 Stars from me. Undrinkable straight, but mix it in a glass of iced tea for an adult Arnold Palmer. You can also pour it into anything you'd like to add a citrus kick to...lemonade, lemon lime soda, cola, etc. The 50mls are $1 each, so it makes a great on the go summertime mixer.

Honestly one of the nastiest things I believe I have ever drank. Cheap vodka with straight lemon juice added.
