I am not a drinker. Used to be but this was my first drink in 14 years. I bought this based on the reviews. All I can say is that it tastes like rubbing alcohol. I taste nothing "floral" or anything like that. It's just plain alcohol. That said, I had a shot and the alcohol taste thankfully goes away in short order. It's not liquid ass. It doesn't burn much at all. It mixes well with grapefruit juice.

Very neutral, but with a nice rye profile. Kinda in that spicy, floral direction. Like a weaker version of Tanqueray Sterling, sort of. Great glass bottle. Not head and shoulders above other strong bottom shelf contenders, in my opinion, but, very nice!

Excellent! Best value in Vodka and my all-time favorite.

I am admittedly not a vodka drinker, and don't quite know how to review it. That being said, this is the only vodka I keep around. A clean nose with a touch of rye and alcohol (but not in an unpleasant, industrial solvent sort of way). Very smooth and semi-oily. There may be more expensive vodkas out there that are marginally better, but I rarely drink the stuff anyway, so why bother? Great value at $13 in my area and overall very respectable.

I only tried it because of the reviews here and I gotta admit, for the price, it's a decent vodka. The best of the cheap stuff.

This is one of the best values in liquor! Smooth and delicious! Available in 50ml samplers.

This is $12 a fifth where I work, putting it just above Taaka and other bottom shelf vodkas in price, but don't let that fool you. I've compared this against several big name "premium" vodkas in blind tastings and this wins everytime, whether straight or mixed. Premium vodka is for showing off; Sobieski is for drinking.

As a newbie to vodka, my friends highly recommended Skyy. However I found the bite and alcohol smell to be too intense and displeasing, even in mixed drinks. After doing some research online, I was swayed by the favorable reviews of Sobieski - so much that I'm leaving my own review. This vodka has a slight bite to it, and there might be smoother vodkas out there - but for the price I don't know how you could beat it. It's half the price of Skyy and the quality is so much better. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy mixed drinks and are on any sort of budget. If you're young and want to explore the mysterious world of vodka, this one is a good choice.

I would agree that it is a very good value vodka, but when put next to other vodkas even slightly more expensive such as Prairie, it looses because of the bite.
Good for mixing, not for drinking straight. I also disagree that this is a better vodka than Belvedere (barring price).

Smooth, great price and much better than Svedka in my opinion.

Great vodka. It's in a very small class of the best value liquor available. No other vodka comes close at the price.

A smooth, elegant vodka at a very affordable price that blows away the competition at twice the money. At this point, it's the only vodka I buy.

For something that is priced at avg of $11, this is probably one of the best value drinks you can hope for in terms of vodka. Although there is a bite (like all vodka's) compared its other competitors in the same price range like smirnoff it is much smoother. Apart from straight taste, sobieski makes out for an outstanding mixing vodka as well. Next time you need to bring a value vodka to a party or a gathering choose this instead of garbage of smirnoff

This is a vodka of surprising quality given the league its its in. This shames Grey Goose, Belvedere, and any other vodka that retails over $20. Smooth, a hint of sweetness, just an all around quality vodka. Nice bottle design too.

Good stuff...even better once I saw the price.

This is a really top shelf vodka. Bruce Willis is the national spokesman. They sprung for a party inviting several hundred military the day before Veterans Day on board the Intrepid. If that doesn't give you a reason to give it a try check the price. By far the best value for the dollar. I was a big Rue 33 fan until I tried this, it's a rye base vs wheat but smooth on the taste buds.
You can pay $60. a botle for a vodka that doesn't match up to this one. Try it you will like it!

Forgot to mention the biggest problem with this vodka is finding it. They market Belvedere which is a distant second to this vodka, what's with that. Get the marketing department off their butts guys.

Extremely smooth and enjoyable!

My cocktail styles are more classic so I tend to deal more with brown spirits, tequila, gin and rum. I like to mix spirits with more characteristics then vodka. Thus I don't go through a lot of vodka. I'm definitely someone who doesn't drink just vodka on its own so my review is based on using Sobieski Vodka for mixing cocktails. When the time comes for me to use vodka, this is it! You cannot beat the quality at this price point. It may be cheap in price but definitely not in quality. I find it to be a very smooth vodka and perfect for mixing to let the flavor in your other ingredients take the stage.

An outstanding vodka for the money. Head and shoulders above the competition at its price point, and making the much more expensive vodkas look to be just that.
By: Knapster123 (11) 9/21/2010Cheers!(1)
OK,OK, so there is better Vodka. But not at this price! And this is pretty good stuff anyway. A little more laid back than others, but to some that is a good thing. Easy to drink neat and it does equally well as a mixer. I'm having trouble finding a reason not to buy this Vodka. It doesn't have much bite and is less uh, viscosity, than other Vodkas I have tried so it comes off as a little mellow and maybe more watery than oily going down the chute. But really this is quite minimal. Highly recommended!

Price point + crisp, clean flavor = best vodka in it's class. Must have for every bar.
By: Phizbin (179) 9/20/2010Cheers!(1)
I'll be honest: this is not the world's best vodka. But I've got to give it 5 stars because it's really, really, really good and at the price-point it becomes superlative. There's almost no reason whatsoever to purchase any other vodka given the value of this one.

Believe the Hype.......this is platinum......Vodka
