Stolichnaya Elit Vodka
This score falls in the 98th percentile of all spirits in the Vodka category and is an example of the very best in its class.
Stolichnaya Elit vodka is the ultra-premium offering filtered at "sub-zero" temperatures, which is meant to reduce impurities in the process.
The Tasting Panel Magazine (October, 2011) named Stoli Elit Vodka one of its Top Ten Vodkas in an exhaustive. blind tasting test of over 100 popular and premium brands.
In a string of sterling reviews, the Beverage Testing Institute said in 2010 "Amazingly clean, smooth, lively and elegant. A truly world-class vodka."
Stolichnaya vodka was originally made in a distillery in a small village in Irkutsk from the waters of Lake Baikal. The purity of the waters in this lake are a scientific wonder and make exceptional vodka. In the modern era, Stoli is made from water sourced at Baikal as well as in other locations throughout Russia creating variation in the brand's consistency (different water, different production, etc.). The "good Stoli" is legendary.
(From The Complete Book of Spirits, Anthony Dias Blue)
Stolichnaya is one of the most famous of all vodkas such that you can order it by name: "Bartender, bring me a stoli!" It is one of those vodkas by which all other vodkas are measured; the benchmark in any given tasting or competition.
