Scotch - Single Malt
Aberfeldy 21yr Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky
This score falls in the 99th percentile of all spirits in the Whiskey category and is an example of the very best in its class.
John Dewar and Sons owns the Aberfeldy label and it was originally opened in 1896 by John Dewar himself. Today it produces single-malt whiskies on behalf of the Dewars label. Aberfeldy lies on the shores of Loch Tay, a beautiful S-shaped lake. The Aberfeldy 21yr is a limited edition bottle, a substantially old age for scotch. The taste is said to have a distinctive "heather honey softness."
Abefeldy Distillery was built by the Dewar family--a famous name in scotch--in 1898. It was shut down during World War I, re-opened, and then closed again during World War II. It was re-opened again in 1972 and recently began producing single-malt whiskies in support of the Dewars company. Aberfeldy is currently owned by Dewars, who is in turn owned by Bacardi.
