Proof66 Notes

The Bunnahabhain (pronounced "Boon-a-havn" Distillery was founded in 1881. In a departure from other Islay scotch whiskies, they do not regard their malt as heavily peated instead relying upon their spring water and coastal environment. Bunnahabhain was sold as part of the acquisition of Burn Stewart Distilleries (who own the distillery) to the Distell Group of South Africa in 2013.

The Bunnahabhain Darach Ur scotch translates as "new oak" from Gaelic.
