Proof66 Notes

Cedar Ridge Malted Rye whiskey distinguishes itself by using malted rye in the grain bill as opposed to, well, unmalted rye (the far more common style of rye grain though there are several malted styles on the market). To us, this suggest a sweetness to the whiskey often found in malted barley whiskey (for example, scotch). It is 100% rye whiskey but the ratios of malted to unmalted rye are not disclosed.

Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery lays claim to the first legal distillery operating in Iowa. They craft spirits using products primarily from their own vineyard and distill from scratch in traditional Bavarian copper pot stills.
