Proof66 Notes

Compass Box blended scotches are a new range meant to both nurture and evolve the traditions of scotch and provide a "re-birth" to the respect of blended scotch.

Oak Cross blended scotch is named for the "crossing" of American and French oak used in the aging process. The French oak comes from a small cooperate in France that they describe as the "best cooperate in the world" and fitted their casks with new heads.

It's very Glenmo 10, so of course I like it. Did a side by side with the two and the Oak Cross is a little softer; a little less oak and spice, but I thoroughly enjoyed the pour. Better than the Asyla, but just like the Asyla I think it's a bit overpriced.

This is very light and fruity, more like an Irish whiskey instead of a Scotch. Still, its a smooth, enjoyable drink.
