Proof66 Notes

Glen Garioch Virgin Oak single malt scotch bears its name because of the aging done in barrels that have not been used before (the great majority of scotch is aged in ex-bourbon barrels or ex-sherry casks). The virgin oak will provide heavier wood driven flavors of caramel and vanilla that Glen Garioch describes as a "velvet explosion."

The Glen Garioch Distillery was founded by Thomas Simpson in 1797 in the self-named Garioch valley that is known for barley production near modern-day Aberdeen.
