Proof66 Notes

The GlenDronach 15yr Revival scotch is aged in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 92 proof--slightly higher than the more typical 86. They call it a "truly excellent malt" with traces of "coffee chocolate and treacle scones."

GlenDronach scotches are known for their rich, sherry finish characteristics. First founded in 1826, the legend has it that founder James Allardice got his start when he was "accosted by two ladies of the evening." He returned to his hotel room where they drank his scotch that he had been unsuccessfully trying to sell... word quickly spread about the night's "shenanigans" followed by many requests for what the women had been drinking. The distillery was purchased by BenRiach in 2008.

4.5/5, rich sherry malt. I agree that it is similar to dalmore but without the range of flavors due the dalmore extensive finishing. Glendronach's fifteen is just a great classic sherry malt done very well and in the same category as other great sherry malts.

A rather typical Highland nose, with a thicksweet malty mouthfeel with a deep toffee/fruity finish. This is an enjoyable after dinner dram. Likeable, but a touch pricier than some comparable 12 year olds. Similar to the Dalmores.

At its price point, my favorite Scotch. For those who like a good Speyside or Highland scotch.
