Scotch - Single Malt
The Glenlivet 18yr Nàdurra Triumph Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This is a Tier 1 score in the Whiskey category. It means the spirit has won the highest recommendation at least once and probably many times.
Glenlivet 18yr Nadurra "Triumph" single malt scotch is a limited edition, very-high-alcohol content offering from our friends at Glenlivet. The Nadurra is non-chill filtered, which is an effort to retain more basic flavors. The vintage was from 1991 and aged for 18 years, using only "first fill" barrels (that is, barrels that have not previously held scotch).
About the Producer:
The Glenlivet Distillery (note the use of the indefinite article "the" allowed by court decree in 1884) is the top-selling single malt scotch in the world. It is often considered the classic Speyside, producing unpeated (that is, non-smoky) scotch whisky. The name translates as "valley of the smooth flowing one." They are proud of their mineral rich water from "Josie's well" and their tall copper stills, producing lighter vapors for smoother, more buoyant whisky. The brand is owned by French-based Pernod-Ricard.
