Liquor Review Notes:
Highland Park Distillery was founded as far back as 1798 and was used primarily for scotch blends until marketing single malts in Highland Park is a distillery devoted to the tradition of scotch making and marks its founding all the way back to 1798. They credit the illicit founding to smuggler Magnus Eunson; the official founding of Highland park from a bureaucratic standpoint was in 1811 by Robert Borwick. Its whiskies were primarily used (and highly sought-after) for blends until 1997 and 1998 when single-malt expressions were greeted with enthusiasm.
The Highland Park 25yr was first released in 1998 and spends half of its maturation time in sherry casks.
