Proof66 Notes

Jefferson's Reserve Groth Cask Finish is an unusual bourbon in that it takes "fully aged bourbon" (alas, they do not inform of the actual aging and is technically a NAS whiskey) and then finished for several months in Cabarnet Sauvignon wine barrels from the Groth Winery in Napa Valley California. The barrels are aged in a "hot box" at 120°F to "sweat out the wine" and marry it with the bourbon. The finished product is one they feel explodes in flavor.
