Proof66 Notes

The Taketsura 12yr is a blend of the two distilleries' 100% malt whisky--or as they would have it, the strong character of Yoichi with the "elegance and precision" of Miyagikyo. This is the younger expression that they call "smooth" and "mellow.'

Nikka whisky is made in Japan and founded officially in 1952, though its heritage reaches back to Masataka Taketsuru who trained in Glasgow and first began producing whisky in 1924 (it is said on the inspiration of his wife Rita Cowan).
