I enjoy a better Canadian Whisky like Crown Royal, Forty Creek or Canadian Club's 12 year old. A friend suggested I try this and I found it just too mild for my tastes.

I usually don't mind a sweet whiskey, but this is over the top. If you drink this stuff regularly and are not diabetic, you will be

Probably the sweetest whisky i have ever tried. Pure butterscotch. Higher price than I think its worth. A dessert whisky. Doesnt taste like whisky.

If I had walked into a bar and asked for a glass of something neat, and this was what the bartender gave me, I'd have assumed s/he had poured me some lightly aged/spiced rum. That is what Pendleton's low-end sipper reminds me of, which is to say it doesn't taste much like whiskey at all. There isn't enough body there, nor is a whiskey-ish taste profile. The nose also wasn't much, though the sickness of the season may be to blame for that. This is not to say that Pendleton is bad, but it is underwhelming as a result. What this means is, of the Canadian whiskies I've had, this is by far the lightest, so much so that it becomes something else. Luckily I had the chance to taste Pendleton without buying the full bottle, because I'd have been a bit disappointed that I paid $20 for an experience common to a few good rums at $12-14. It doesn't taste bad, and there's a soft burn, but I want whiskey, not rum, when I buy something like this.  I personally wouldn't buy this after my first experience, again not because the quality isn't there, but because it's not the whiskey experience I'm looking for at this price. If you are looking for bolder Canadian whiskies with bang for the buck, I recommend trying Forty Creek.

Much more complex and interesting than most of the Canadian whisky out there. It is a good bargain for someone seeking a better brand and is much older and more drinkable than most Canadian whisky. If you tend more toward single malt scotch than regular Canadian whisky you will like this one.
