Proof66 Notes

The small caliber series is a group of limited edition whiskey aged in smaller barrels, presumably to promote greater contact in a quicker period of time between liquor and oak. They regard the small barrels as a chance to experiment with different concepts of whiskey. The Ranger Creek .36 is interesting in that it is aged in small barrels while its counterpart--aged in larger barrels and not expected to be available for years yet--will provide a side-by-side chance to compare the different aging techniques (and a chance to add a compelling argument to an ongoing dispute about the acceptability and quality of accelerated aging in craft distilleries).
