Although this is a bit lighter on the rye (65%) then I typically prefer, the age and blend make up for it. Its a rye I think could be sipped on the rocks, as it is sweet, rich, and spicy, very flavorful and mature for a rye. Works great in a Manhattan, too, especially with Reagans orange bitters. Really solid rye at a great value.

I rate this my second favorite to date behind Templeton Rye. First impression was that it was an alright rye, but have grown to like it very well. Always have a bottle on my bar.

Not my favorite rye, but tasty and high quality. Nose is disappointingly neutral. Taste hits first as very dry and oakey--reminds me more than anything else of Bulleit Bourbon, but with more rye flavor. Follow through seems young and slightly harsh in a thin, clear way. Thin but pleasant grassy aftertaste. Lacks the full, rich, warm body of Bulleit 95 Rye, or even of Old Overholt. Still, if you like your whiskey dry, this might be the rye for you.

Could definitely notice the spiciness, tasted shortly after Jim Beam white, Woodford Creek. Taste difference between the previous two was definitely discernible. I enjoyed it quite a bit more. The only one I finished.

After sipping on this recently, I started to quickly become a fan of rye whiskey. There are a few that have a bit too much spice and kick, but this one is balanced very nicely. There's still a kick! But it's a good kick!!

Rye whiskies are cool and they're in. This is a great value as ryes go... I love the fact that it doesn't apologize for what it is. Expect the high, spicy kick.
