Canadian Whisky - Blended
Seagram's Very Old Gold Canadian Blended Whisky
This is a Tier 3 score in the Whiskey category. It means critics recommended the spirit but it will be a value brand or have an exotic taste.
First launched in 1911, Seagram's whisky was named for Joseph Seagram who joined the Granite Mills and Waterloo Distillery in 1864.
Seagram's VO Gold Canadian whisky is aged for 8 years (as opposed to the 6 years for Seagram's VO). It was first made in 1913 and meant to commemorate marriage of Thomas Seagram, scion of Joseph. (From Art of the Drink)
The brand itself is owned by Diageo and is we're told is currently being blended and bottled at the Diageo-owned bottling plant in Valleyfield, Quebec in Canada.
We are currently working on tagging every bottle on our site with keywords (that's over 7,000 bottles!), but we haven't made it to this bottle yet.
