Proof66 Notes

Tullamore Dew "standard blend" Irish whiskey is the flagship brand "known the world over for its smooth and gentle flavour." They suggest sipping it "slowly" neat or with "a little water."

Tuallmore Distillery was founded in the town of Tullamore in 1829 by Michael Molloy. The town was named for Tulach Mhor meaning "big hill" and considers itself an agricultural heartland for grain production.

I venture out of Bourbon but occasionally. I tried this out of curiosity and the low price. And I was rather surprised to find that I liked it. Yes it is very light in proof and flavors, but as a light whisky for a hot summer day it wasn't bad. It reminded me of Four Roses Yellow Label. I kept my bottle in the refrigerator and enjoyed it at leisure. I tend to shy away from most scotch or Irish because I dislike the "Floral" taste, but I did not find that with this Tullamore Dew.

TD is definitely a good whiskey for the price point $20. To compare to Jameson, I find Jameson to be heavier on the vanilla taste, but overall a smoother product...I do recommend Tullamore Dew's 10 year reserve blend and the single malt.

Very standard middle of the market whiskey. Not great but not terrible, although I'd prefer Jameson since it's in a similar price range.

Light, smooth, a hint of citrus and honey, this is a fantastic Irish Whiskey for spring/summertime. Great for sipping, but too much ice ruins the flavor, and it doesn't mix very well (the flavors of the whiskey are lost very easily)

For cheap Irish whiskey this is not bad! Very drinkable, VERY light compared to its competitors with just enough flavor. Shared a bottle of it with me brotha the night before he married his bonnie lass so it'll always have a dear place in me heart.

Light, easy drinking, sweet, and simple. It's a good one to drink if you're trying to have a conversation with someone and don't want to be distracted by the complexities of your beverage; you just talk and slurp it down as if it were a Bud Light. If you want a "thinker" of a pour though better opt for something else.

Tasty cheap Irish whiskey. It is no jameson, but it is a decent sippable colleague.

Bested by Jameson's similar offering, this is very lightly flavored with a bite.

A well-made, traditional blended Irish whiskey in the style of Jameson's or Bushmills. Medium-sweet with a fair bit of heat on the finish. Tullamore Dew isn't going to blow you away, but it's a good, affordable blended whiskey. For the complete review, and more like it, please visit ProfessorCocktail.com.

Tully is a very good every day value-priced Irish blend. It is available in 1.75L bottles for about $34 at a discount liquor warehouse. I would caution consumers against too much ice with Tully: It makes the product taste harsh and a mite bitter. I use a little ice then pour the DEW then splash some room temperature water over the top. Then I wait for the ice to melt. The product has a light, sweet taste. The after-taste is pleasant but not lengthy.

It's ok. light whiskey with quite grassy/hay-like nose. palate has some kind of bourbony feel, but triple distilled= very light. Definitely summer whiskey. Little bit rough, but quite enjoyable still.

I'm a big fan of Irish whiskey, but not so much of Tullamore.  I really wanted to like it, but its kind of harsh, even when in a mixed drink.  If I had my choice between this Irish & another, I'd probably pick the other.

Tullamore Dew is summed up in one word... "pleasant". A slight citrus character and then I get a little vanilla and hints of oak on the finish, not long but very smooth, in fact I think its smoother than jameson original which is hard to believe to some people. Cant wait to try the Dew 10 and 12 years, as well as the single malt! For 20 bucks worth every penny and more!!!
