Liquor Review Notes:
Woodford Distiller is located on "a huge limestone aquifer" which provides both a natural filter and calcium additives. It was first constructed in 1838 and continues to expand to this day. They continue to ferment their bourbon in cypress tanks, which they claim prevents unwanted flavors that may arise in stainless steel. They also keep a stable of racehorses stabled on site!
Woodford Reserve 1838 Sweet Mash bourbon is part of the annual "Master's Collection" and made from a sweet mash instead of a sour mash, which creates a different flavor profile and character to the whiskey.

If you tend towards Makers Mark style whiskey you will like this one. Relatively straightforward and a touch more rounded or complex (rye influence) than Makers Mark. A solid value for the money.
