Proof66 Notes

Chateau de Lacquy produces a line of vintage armagnac bottled from specific years made from wine harvested from their own estate. The brandy is bottled right from the barrel without blending down, so the bottling proof is higher than the more commonly seen 80 proof and much more flavorful (and boozy) from the natural essence of the grape distillate and oak-aging.

Chateau de Lacquy claims a long history of family ownership stretching all the way back to 1711—founded by Count Gilles de Boisseson—on an estate that stretches across 400 hectares (988 acres) with 20 hectares given over to vineyards (the remaining they call an "ecological paradise" of woodlands and various species of animals).
