Proof66 Notes

La Clandestine La Bleue absinthe is named in honor of Claude-Alain Bugnon's earlier efforts at "clandestine" absinthe production in his own home as he experimented and perfected his recipes and tastes. His first legal production began in 2005(first imported into the US in 2008). It is a "bleue" absinthe and really is blue rather than the more typical green associated with absinthe, a style often favored by the Swiss and consistent with the centuries-old recipe used by Artemisia.

This was my first and so far only bleue absinthe and I enjoyed it very much. The only flavor that I can specifically pick out is menthol, but for the smoothness and intensity I rate this highly. Too bad it's so expensive. Drank with only water.
